the party was a very interesting one with a whole range of guests from the academia, engineering background to bankers and relatives.
some of us family members went in early to take formal pictures when we and our apparels, were still fresh!
of course that meant waiting in queue for one's turn for the photoshoot
then after a whole lot of preparations...
...and varying directions...
..the formal photoshoot finally gets under way
soon the guests started to trickle in...
..and in no time the hall was packed to the brim with guests
.. there were artists..
...happy and healthy smilers...
...the elderly...
... and babies too
there were cousins galore...
...there were twins...
...and samdhinis...
...and even lamdhi lamdhinis...
...there were nuns..
... and policy makers...
... school friends...
... and first cousins...
the female folks enjoy in one corner...
...and the males in the other...
.. the reception turned out to be a big rediscovoring relatives, especially for the dixit clan
...the saalis try to rekindle the flavour of the musical from shankar hotel...
siblings finally relax over dinner
simrik continues to be pampered by aunts
post-dinner roundtable discussion
the shakya image wizards...
and the only time the cameras, and the men behind them, got a respite
then the disco lights came on...
.. and the ballroom turned into a dance floor
in one corned of the floor gyankaji does a flying five routine
while shyam rocks along with priya
... the joshi females cling to the mumbai se lauta aadmi
... finally the bride also steps into the dance floor
as the disco lights blinked and swayed
...mama and maiju do the bagh bazarango...
... family members sway to the groove...
.. the samdhini salsa continues on...
the saalis and jethi saasus slither up first to numero uno jwaain ayoush
... and then on to numero duo jwain krishna
then it's time for the waltzing couple
dancers crowd the floor to the beat of various bollywood numbers
the tiniest feet were also treading to the beat
...groovin' family...
...reliving the romance...
then the joshi didi bahini start the 'sister act'
then it's time for priya to spin with ashish...
...before the sisters demonstrate the spin...
and the 'kri'-duo finish off the spinning round
the final flirt by the sherchan jwaains
rahul's angels
while jyoti man and rekha oversee the packing of gifts and flowers...
..gyankaji and shyam transfer the gifts to the vehicle
and then the finale....let's dance the last dance together....
... and that was how it happened.. prarthana and ayoush' "wedding-spread-over-two-years"
and who knows... maybe in two more years this is what the chhoti si parivar will look like!
