to the dorrs in zeven and back to an anniversary!

after coming back from the holiday in mallorca, we went to visit brigitte and peter dorr in zeven. so finally we were driving north of hannover like the kids had said we were before we flew to mallorca!

we got into the vw van and ujwal drove us to zeven with the help of a GPS speaking clipped british accent!


... we arrived to a spread.. a bbq feast.. that only a prodigal family could have gotten!! courtesy chef extraordinaire michael!

.. kripa shared miss moti with family and friends...








..we had eaten so much.. that we decided we had to walk to digest it all...





so we got a tour of the seven's zentrum.. and points of interest...







it looked like the gorkhalis had taken over the streets. ek dui ek dui kadam badhaayo....

we visited parks ...












...learnt about the person who made measurement of land simpler (i think!)...

the monastery of yore...

















...and an ancient typewriter with the @ key









we walked back through a tall green forest echoing with bird calls















was amazing to see an unmanned kiosk that runs purely on trust.. priya pretends to be a potato thief



back in the dorrs' home we inspect peter's labour of love.. his backyard garden...






and the pond...













now that the food was pushed down a bit, we started on the desserts... all temptations baked at home








.. so yes.. we were basically back around the table again! after brigitte's present to all of us we moved indoors...



.. there we pored over brigitte's meticulous travel albums















... as martina and darren looked on...









... and guess what? we were back to eating again.. this time.. dinner for the road... soup et al...



so with some last minute tips from peter about the GPS







.. we were on the road once again.. speeding down to springe..








.. past wind turbines..










back in the apartment we had a surprise happy 5th anniversary gift of yet another plant and some champagne ujwal and rehna..














the drinks were poured...
















.. and the anniversary couple drank for love
