my pachaasaun janmotsavs!!

अमेरिका, ज़र्मनी र बेलायत को भ्रमण मा मैले धेरै चोटी 'happy birthday' गाएको सुन्न पाएँ

it mainly started with the dinner at olive garden that pravin tulachan took us in new york.. where over a tiramisu slice i was wished a happy 50th birthday...

on the eve of our arrival in germany, there was a cake that rehna had made that i cut amidst a round of happy birthday! i also got a huge collection of cds with the sentimental songs of the 60s and 70s!

the biggest present of all was the surprise trip to the spanish island of mallorca for the entire family. surprise only for me, of course.. the whole family had been planning the trip behind my back.. and i had no clue. went to the hannover airport to get into a hired car to go the north sea.. and instead the kids handed me a ticket and began singing happy birthday at the check -in counter..

this was the moment they thrust the tickets into my hands!!!

it was then that ujwal revealed to what lengths he and the rest of the family had gone to keep me from suspecting anything about the surprise trip... at the airport he showed me the printout he had taken out of the hotel we were supposed to be staying in hamburg.. complete with instructions on how to drive there!!!!

once back from mallorca we had a nice pre-birthday dinner on the night of the 5th june

and a surprise "taak-taak' poster for me on arriving home past midnight!

then followed the other surprises...like a life-time supply of surma ...

... and....

....a frog-prince keychain!!

on the 6th itself.... there was surprise birthday slices in springe zentrum, following priya's visit to the hospital for her backache

yummmy!

while walking in the zentrum, i'd noticed what i thought was a fancy eye-glass chain. i walked a way.. but the three girls did after all buy it.. and gifted it to me that evening

i even got a गुरू दत्त look from baba!

yet to upload... birthday surprises once back home in kathmandu.. like the great 'budhyouli' tresaure hunt at my maiti...
