the whole thing began at 1:00 a.m. on 24th December, baba's tithi birthday (his actual birth date in 16th January). it was a day filled with activities for baba.. from the surprise gift early in the morning (too early!!) to the kausi bhoj in the afternoon and being part of a get together at patan where there was a surprise cake for him...
... huh? why have you opened the light?...
... hmmm just what i needed...
... okay now this seems like it!

in the afternoon we had a formal inauguration of baba's baranda by muwa
... muwa unravels the khadas...
.. and it's formally usable now...
.. baba shows muwa how the deck chair works...
... how it relines...
... as the amused spectators look on... rajan, bindadi and mami...
.. baba's turn...
... and then mami's...
... next was the kausi bhoj organized by mami...
.. but first some blessings from mami...

discovery that shanta's bhinaju's birthday was also today...
.. baba lights the 65th candle (no blowing of light here)...
together they cut the cake...
this is where they both thought "aha.. so it is possible to have your cake and eat it too!"
65 years signifies baba's entry as a senior citizen.. also eligible for briddha bhatta!
