and the wedding winds up

finally after all the rituals, the parties and receptions, himali-abhinash wedding season's over! i've posted some pictures below from the mookh herney in himali's 'ghar' and the reception at soaltee yeaterday from her 'maiti' side...

pretty maids all in a row...we samdhinis of all shades and relations line up in himali's ghar on monday for a mookh herney and samdhini bhet combo action...

we'd taken the 'topped up' supari goodies along with us...

... and then it was chhori ko mookh herney by shanta and milan, as per ghar traditions...

... while shanta performed the rituals, himali's in laws stood watching from above...

... and a mayo happy to see her family around her...

...abhinash' 6-month old niece comes with the same 'bambi' eyes and looks like her uncle...

after the rituals outside we went into the elegant pradhan home... shanta here with her samdhi and samdhini and sanima samdhini ...

ama chhori chhori.. abhinash' mother, sister and niece...

.. then it was time for samdhini bhet (meeting of the female inlaws) .. which was over in a jiffy...

after the formalities we had dinner and then toured the house, especially the lovely space that abhinash had created for himali and himself 'neath the sloping roof of his house...

... and others get tempted to pile up too, tired after a loooong day's work...

and now we zip on to 29th june, the wedding reception from the maiti side at the soaltee...

... there was a break in the programme when kala gurung sang a 'i will be there' for the newly weds...

...after that there was live flute recital for quite a while from jeevan ale and company...

.. then it's photo op time...

...first the cousins' couples who got wed on the same day... abhinash & himali and anu & kirtan...

... oince dinner was done.. it was toe tapping, waist gyrating time...

.. and that was himali and abhinash' wedding special... may you two be forever happy together ...
