3 dozen years of togetherness

three dozen years ago to the day (9 may 1974, 26th baisakh 2031) kiran raj joshi (baba) was married to rupa dixit (me). to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary i have put up some pictures of the two of us in the recent years, and some celebratory pictures from near midnight today. most of the the pictures from today were taken by cholu (priya)


this is the day of our swayambar. baba was 24 , i was still short of 17. our marriage was scheduled for a week after the engagement, but an old relative of mine died, and the wedding was postponed (to my delight) to a fortnight after the original date!!!

this is the two of us in 2009 ready to go to the fancy dress thingy at office as bride and groom. my veil, and sari are the same ones i wore during my wedding! sorry the blouse and petticoat don't fit me no more!!! :( the dozen or so images now are from today!!

following that we led baba to the toilet for his anniversary gift.. a stool that baba can use when he has a backache. this was something that he'd wanted too!

baba in his excitement opened the stool all the way to the top,, and it too us quite a while to figure out how to take it down. it was cholu to the rescue. she sat on the stool thus making it possible for us to slide it down!! here are father and dotter celebrating!
